Your attitude -- You have the ability to change
anything in your life. If it's a relationship, work, or
finances and your feeling
depressed, try changing
your attitude.
You take the first step. Smile and be happy.
Don't let other people get the best of you. Make changes for yourself. Other
people will have no choice but
to acknowledge the change. Maybe they're
unhappy. Forget about what was said or happened. If
it wasn't really that big of a deal, move
on with a smile.
The mind is the key to everything.
When you're
sad or happy you feel a physical change in your body. For example,
when you win a game you're
pumped. Your
mind reacts to the change. When you're
happy, your body isn't tired. You're
in a good state. A healthy state. As long as this state is in
moderation.
How much energy does it take to be unhappy?
No doubt you've heard the
saying "it takes less muscles to
smile than it does to frown".
Same goes for being unhappy. Your body goes through a change. You
might not feel hungry or you're
so hungry you eat and eat. Your body is reacting to the state of mind
you're
in, and we know what happens then --
over a period of time you will either gain weight
or lose it. I know you're
thinking.... "Loss of weight?
that's great!" Yes, it would be
if you were going about it in a healthy way,
and taking care, eating right and so on, but not necessarily in
this state of mind. Be kind to your body and yourself. Be happy!
"Change?",
you might be thinking, "why
should I change? I'm not the
one who should change. I didn't
do anything wrong." But in fact
you are the one in the wrong by
allowing others to have control over your emotions. You need to get
yourself out of the unhealthy state of mind. Think happy thoughts and
move on.
Issues might not be resolved, but you can't
resolve anything in an unhealthy state of mind. You're
just spinning the wheels and going nowhere. Wait and get yourself in a
neutral state and stay there,
then resolve the issue.
In general, people have good reactions to
positive people. In some cases,
people feel better around a happy person. They are feeding off the good
energy from that person. This can be both
good and bad. Why? Well, the person feeding off the good isn't
feeding themselves, and only feels better around that person. This kind
of person needs to practice feeding themselves with happy and good
thoughts. The person who is
giving the good energy needs to
be careful. This kind of person can
be so giving that others could
actually steal their energy. If
you have good energy, help
others to feed themselves and to
not be fed by you every time. You'll both feel better.
Attitude can make a difference. Just try. Ask
yourself, "what
can I do make this situation a positive experience?"
Here are some questions to ask yourself.
1. Who's involved and how are they expecting
me to act? (Most likely they
expect a negative reaction so they use it to their
advantage, exposing
you, not thinking you can change this.)
2. What can I do to change this situation in
my favor? (This may mean
swallowing some pride and apologizing).
3. Do I want to make this change, and be
sincere and have a positive attitude?
4. Who can I go to for help? Why would they
want to help me?
5. Can I really change my attitude?
6. Can I pay it forward? (This will just
give you good Karma).
I hope this has given you food for thought,
and may there be lots of happy days ahead.
If you think you're
suffering from depression, seek medical attention from your doctor. Be
pro-active. It's
your life. Live it.
